Covid or not, 2020 has been good to Shanghai. After celebrating 30 years of prosperous business activity in Pudong, and winning the “Smartest City” award, Shanghai has also made an impressive leap into the list of the world’s top-10 most attractive cities.
PTL Group has been no stranger to the celebrations and on December 8th we took part in the 2020 Israel Day organized by the Israeli Consulate General in Shanghai. The day was attended by government officials and Israelis working and living in the city and was structured with the intention of strengthening Sino-Israeli cooperation.
The morning started with the optimistically titled seminar: “Sharing Experiences for a Bright Future”. PTL Group’s General Manager, Arie Schreier, was one of the speakers who shared their experience in an interesting panel discussion, together with senior managers of Israeli companies and organizations operating in Shanghai, such as Sino Israel Technology Innovations, Mathlevi Education Technology, StartupEast, Agriplus, and Salvento.
Yael Einav from YChina also took part in the seminar and discussed the cultural gaps between China & Israel, as well as Roy Kreizman, the Tourism attaché in Israel’s Shanghai Consulate General, who gave a fascinating presentation in fluent Chinese that left all completely astonished.
Next we attended the opening ceremony of the expanded and renovated Jewish Museum in Shanghai.
Later in the day, a special business event inaugurating the Israeli Consulate General’s Economic Department was held, where Israeli companies operating in the city presented their products.

Lastly, the guests enjoyed Israeli food at the Consulate’s festive gala event.
We would like to thank Eddie Shapira, Israel’s Consul General in Shanghai and Niv Hanan, the Economic Consul, for leading the day and for supporting Israeli companies doing business in Shanghai.
